Who’s Fiscally Conservative?

When I was in school, we were taught that Republicans are fiscal conservatives. Until G. Dubya Bush came along, I might have agreed. Articles located at the Washington Post and New York Times are enlightening. I snatched these graphics from New York Times. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words.

Republican Party Continues Credibility Loss

There was time I was a registered Republican. I switched in 2004 to Independent. I did so because the Republican party lost it’s way by incorporating the Christian-right-wing-nuts into the party years earlier. During the Dubya years war expenses were hidden, the Patriot Act was passed which eroded our freedoms, and the Republicans, in general, became the party of NO!

Raise The Damn Debt Ceiling Already!

I, for one, continue to become increasingly annoyed with politicians. The news is all abuzz about raising the debt ceiling. It’s agreed they need to. It’s agreed not doing so would be severely detrimental to our country. This is a rather logical endeavour.

The Game And The Players: Broken!

Government and politics in the United States has eroded to the extent that it’s a very sad state of affairs. The people are unhappy, somehow believing that insults or outright displays of bigotry and disdain are acceptable, and seem to have disconnected from the reality of what’s supposed to happen in Washington. Further, it appears politicians are unable or unwilling to speak to one another, let alone compromise on issues. They are frequently exposed as ethically challenged and morally bankrupt. The system seems irreparably broken.

On The Political Disconnect In America

I, for one, have to extend kudos to the way our forefathers conceived and handled elections. The Electoral College was a master-piece that overcame the time-distance-knowledge disparity between the government and it’s people. Communications back then was way slower – it took weeks or months to get a message from one extreme U.S. border to the other. The general education level of the population was maybe at a third grade level. Further, the average citizen in 1776, wasn’t very knowledgeable about world affairs.

Sarah Palin For President?

Let’s see…Whiner and all around quitter. All I can say is …

John McCain brought this witch to national attention to his discredit. Now she just won’t go away.

Sarah’s re-labeled mainstream media as “lamestream” media. True to her M.O.: If you don’t like something, don’t understand it and/or can’t handle it – [...]

Newt For President?

Another GOP “winner”…NOT! This guy spends more time apologizing for his flubs than actually getting work done. Not remotely close to what I’m looking for in a president. If he had any self-respect, he’d drop-out before the first primary.

For those who spew the diatribe “No one would vote for a guy named Newt!”. [...]

How To Fix Healthcare In America

This is not a new idea, and I can not take credit for it. It sounds easy, but it’s actually a difficult task…

All we need to do is take away the cushy healthcare plans provided to legislative, judicial and presidental office holders and other government employees. Have them use the same healthcare system [...]

Usama Bin Laden: DEAD!

Excellent work on the part of the U.S. Armed Forces! The lost souls of 9-11 may now rest in peace. The non-sense will unfortunately continue…

Is it over? People I’ve talked to seem overly optimistic that the war is now over. I don’t think so. Al Qaeda isn’t going away any-time soon. From what [...]

The REAL Problem with Healthcare in America - Insurance Companies!

The evil-empire in the healthcare world isn’t the Feds. It’s the insurance companies. I’m not trying to say that the government won’t screw-up healthcare. If it’s at all possible, they WILL regardless of which side of the isle you’re on. I AM saying the insurance companies have entirely too much power in the current system with the capability to set prices at both ends – what the insurance companies pay the doctors and what we pay for the privilege of having insurance. The only clear winners are the insurance companies.
